It's a mostly dry and muggy night across central and south Alabama, and this weather will continue into Sunday morning. Showers and storms will start popping up again tomorrow afternoon, but similarly to Saturday, they won't be widespread and more of you will stay dry. Everyone will feel hot, though, with highs near 93° and heat index values near 100°+.

Monday is the first day of school for many. There could be a few isolated showers in the morning, so your child may want a raincoat while waiting for the bus to pick them up, although most areas will be dry. By their afternoon walk home from school, storms will be scattered and temperatures will be hot. By the way, you can get next week's back-to-school forecast on the WSFA 12 Weather app, and you can get a list of which schools go back to school what days on WSFA.com.

The warming trend continues into next week, when temperatures warm to the mid 90s and heat index values will be near 100°. Isolated to scattered storms are possible each afternoon.
