MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A woman is facing child endangerment charges after court documents say her child was born testing positive for drugs.
Karon Burgans, 26, is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of a child.
Court documents indicate Burgans was charged following an investigation by the Montgomery Police Department.
Documents say the charge is related to an incident that happened on July 23. Burgans and her child tested positive for amphetamines and benzodiazepines, also known as benzos, at the time the child was born.
Burgans was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $2,500 bond.
