TUSKEGEE, AL (WSFA) - The Red Cross and Tuskegee University will host a blood drive Tuesday, Aug. 21 inside Tuskegee's Logan Hall to benefit Jabari Bailey.

For every pint donated, $10 will go to Bailey's family.

Bailey, a member of the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers football team, is facing a long recovery after losing his leg in a car accident in Memphis, Tennessee, in July. Bailey stopped on the side of a road to help jump-start a friend's stalled car. A truck slammed into the rear of the friend's car, pinning Bailey between the two cars and severing his left leg at the knee.

Bailey is now focusing on recovery.

He is also determined to return to school in January.
