MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A dense fog advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. this morning. Yesterday's heavy rain is helping that thicker fog develop, and it's about as thick as we've seen it in a few weeks.
Visibility will drop below 1/4 mile at times, so factor that into your morning routine. Once the fog clears, partly cloudy skies will give way to isolated showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon.
Coverage will be lower today versus yesterday. That helps the heat take off a bit with highs into the middle 90s expected. The heat index values will be well into the triple digits for a few hours into the afternoon.
As rain chances pick up later this week and into the weekend, highs will be several degrees cooler moving forward.
