FBI investigating heist at Montgomery Indian casino

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A man has been charged with stealing nearly $200,000 from a Montgomery Indian casino.
According to federal court records, Timothy Dean Pettiway was arrested on Aug. 10 and is facing theft charges after a heist at Wind Creek Casino Montgomery.
A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent wrote in the charging documents that $192,800 was missing from two customer kiosks near the casino floor.
Court documents indicate the surveillance video showed that a casino employee leaving keys on top of a machine on the floor that had been malfunctioning. Later video showed Pettiway kneeling in front of a customer kiosk, holding what appeared to be a money cassette.
The case remains under investigation by the FBI. We reached out to the casino, but no comment could be given at this time.
Another man was also arrested in connection with the case. According to court documents, however, the department of justice filed a motion to dismiss the subject from the complaint.
