ELMORE CO., AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Department of Transportation will begin work on U.S. Highway 231 South to correct a slide on Tuesday.

According to ALDOT, the slide is located just south of the Elmore County Health Department. There will be an outside lane closure for brief periods of time and work will begin around 8:30 a.m. each day.

ALDOT says the project is set to be finished by the end of September.

Motorists should expect delays, plan accordingly and are urged to use caution when traveling in a work zone.
