SELMA, AL (WSFA) - A Selma man has been arrested after a child was taken to the emergency room with physical marks and bruises.
According to Selma Police Sgt. Ray Blanks, Rakeem Jermaine Harris, 29, was arrested on Thursday and charged with aggravated child abuse and second degree assault. The arrest stems from an investigation of a 3-year-old who was taken to the Vaughan Emergency Room with injuries.
Detectives responded to the emergency room and interviewed the child's mother. They then developed Harris as a primary suspect.
Harris is being held in the Dallas County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
