MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A juvenile is in police custody after a string of car burglaries, according to the Montgomery Police Department.
The unnamed 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into the Aug. 1 break-ins of six vehicles in the New Park area of Montgomery.
In addition to breaking and entering, the suspect is facing a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card stolen from one of the vehicles.
The teen is being held at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Residents should always make sure their vehicles are locked when they get out.
Never leave valuable items such as guns, phones, wallets and purses in their vehicles, especially in plain sight. Such items present tempting targets for break-ins.
