DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - At least one person has died after a multi-vehicle wreck in Dothan.

The wreck happened at the intersection of South Oates and East Saunders Friday afternoon. The coroner identified the driver as 47-year-old Kenneth Spann from Webb, Alabama.

Witnesses say Spann's car slammed into several vehicles stopped at the red light at the intersection.

"Like an explosion," said witness Arthur Miller. "He hit the back end of one car. The truck and the other vehicle went airborne. We saw it go in the air, flip around, and land on its roof."

The coroner says Spann may have been experiencing a medical emergency, but because there were no passengers in the car there's no way to know for sure.
