MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - We may be starting a new workweek, but that doesn't mean we are getting rid of the same heat and humidity we've dealt with all weekend long...
After a mild (but slightly muggy) start to our day (most towns woke up to temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s) we will experience a seasonable afternoon for this time of year; temperatures easily climb into the low 90s today under a mostly sunny sky.
Even though it was a dry to start our day, a few showers and storms will return to the area by the afternoon.
Thanks to a hefty southerly breeze, moisture ramps up even more has the week progresses. That means it feels muggier and our opportunity for wet weather goes up. Coverage of rain today is around 20% today, and it will grow to roughly 30-40% as we get closer to midweek.
Rain chances increase the farther south you live in Alabama, but overall no day this week looks to be a washout. Temperatures will be warm with highs in the low 90s, and heat index values will be in the upper 90s.
