Fatal crash kills 1, injures another in south AL

Opp, AL (WSFA) - The Opp Police Department is working to figure out exactly what happened in a crash that ended up killing one man and injuring another Monday afternoon.

Just after 1 p.m., Opp police was notified about a two-vehicle crash on the bridge on Opine Road. When units arrived, they found two people critically injured and had them transported to Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Police said that 29-year-old Mychal Deandre Bonhham of Andalusia, was driving eastbound on Opine Road when he struck a plow that was on the end of tractor operated by 86-year-old Opp resident Mack Hudgens.

Hudgens died later on as a result of his injuries, according to police.

Opp police are investigating in conjunction with Alabama State Troopers.
