MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Get ready for another afternoon filled with your favorite summertime trio: heat, humidity and pop-up showers!

Most model forecast guidance continues to indicate a gradually upward trend in overall rain chances... this will initially affect our eastern/southern counties starting today, but rain coverage will continue to climb as we head into Wednesday/Thursday/Friday.

For the most part, these showers/storms are mostly driven by daytime heating, and we will have a lot of that: a good bit of sunshine each day will help temperatures climb above 90°, but at times it could feel closer to 100°.

Early signs are pointing to a somewhat drier weekend, which would be good timing for our Labor Day weekend.

Either way, these numbers (and the scattered afternoon thunderstorms we'll see each day) are very typical for August in Alabama. No surprises here - it's still Summer!
