MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 21-year-old has been charged in connection to a Montgomery shooting.
According to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Martha Earnhardt, Cortez Barnes is charged with one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
The shooting happened on July 17 around 11:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of French Street. Earnhardt says a residence and a vehicle sustained damage in the shooting.
An investigation into the shooting identified Barnes as a suspect. He was taken into custody on Tuesday and placed under a $30,000 bond.
Investigators say the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute. Another man, Rickel Osborne was also identified as a suspect in the shooting and was taken into custody on Aug. 7.
