Makeil James Gordon, 19, died when the 1999 Infiniti I30 he was driving left the road, hit the median, and overturned in opposing lanes of traffic. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. (Source: WSFA 12 News)

CHILTON COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - A pedestrian was killed in Chilton County Tuesday evening, at around 5:30 p.m.

According to Cpl. Jesse Thornton with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Sandra Lynne Bollinger, 70, of Clanton was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Alabama 22 near the intersection of Chilton County 228, about six miles west of Clanton. Bollinger was hit by a 2011 Mercury Marquis while crossing the road.

Bollinger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercury remained at the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate.
