MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A man, who died after being hit by a vehicle in Montgomery Wednesday night, has been identified.

According to Cpl. David Hicks, the victim, Floyd Pickett, 60, was struck by a vehicle on the service road at Sussex Drive and the East South Boulevard. The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. Pickett sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hicks says an initial investigation indicates a 2010 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on the East South Boulevard service road when it struck Pickett, who had walked into the roadway.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

A WSFA 12 News photographer reported seeing investigators searching through the grassy median at the scene.
