Arrest made in Friday night homicide of Montgomery man

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the Friday night homicide of a Montgomery man.

Police arrested Kendrick Holley, 34, of Montgomery, and charged him with the murder of 46-year-old Jermaine Ashley.

Police said Holley and Ashley were involved in an altercation which led to the shooting.

Police also said initial investigation revealed Holley and Ashley were "known associates."

Medics and officers responded to the 2400 block of Hickman Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday in response to a subject shot. Officers arrived and found Ashley dead at the scene.

Holley was placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $150,000 bond.

Police are still investigating.
