MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The River Region United Way is partnering with area colleges and universities to host an inaugural phone-a-thon Thursday.
The phone-a-thon will take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at ASK telemarketing on Carmichael Road. This is not your usual phone-a-thon where the public is invited to call in and give. Instead, student volunteers will be on hand to call United Way donors for a pledge drive and have the opportunity to thank donors from throughout the River Region.
River Region United has partnered with six area colleges and universities including Alabama State University and Auburn University at Montgomery.
Funds raised through this Phone-a-thon is part of United Way's 2018 Campaign, which directly impacts the lives of nearly 135,000 people served by the River Region United Way and its more than 40 affiliate agencies
Although this event is not open to the public, anyone can support the River Region United Way by giving online.
