DALLAS COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - The shooting suspect who was being held on a $2.5 million bond at the Dallas County Jail will see one of his two attempted murder charges upgraded to capital murder, according to the Selma Police Department
Shaquille Tyus, 23, was arrested on Labor Day after a shooting around 1 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Highland Avenue.
Tyus is accused of shooting two brothers, one identified as Tradarius Hill, 21. Hill was shot at least eight times, including in the head. He was taken by a medical helicopter to a hospital but has since died of his injuries.
Hill's brother, whose name has not been released, was also shot, though the extent of his injuries was unknown.
Detectives say the shooting was the result of an argument from the previous night.
The suspect is referred to in court documents state as an "extremely dangerous...known gang member".
Tyus has been appointed an attorney by the court.
