Prichard Woman Accused Of Complicity In 12-Year-Olds' Rape
Police have arrested a Prichard woman on charges that she worked a 12-year-old girl as a prostitute in exchange for drugs.
Assistant Mobile County district attorney Steve Giardini said prosecutors decided to charge 46-year-old Cynthia Benice Fletcher with criminal complicity to second-degree rape because she induced or promoted the sexual act. Giardini said the girl was raped at least one time this year by a man whom authorities have not yet arrested. He said the department of Human Resources has safely placed her.
Giardini declined to discuss other details of the case pending a preliminary hearing, which has not been set. Fletcher was booked into Mobile Metro Jail and released yesterday on three-thousand dollars bail.
