MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Air University Press is celebrating a major milestone.

The AU Press celebrated its 60th anniversary by hosting a celebration at the Air Force Research Institute at Maxwell Air force Base in Montgomery. The event included various authors who were on hand to answer questions and sign their books.

The Air College has been a key component in teaching and training Airmen for their jobs in the Air Force. Through the years, Air University Press has produced and distributed scholarly publications for the development, exchange and advancement of air power thought critical to all Airmen.

Some of its prestigious publications include Air and Space Power Journal, Strategic Studies Quarterly, textbooks for Air University courses, Air Force Research Institute Papers and Air War College Maxwell Papers. The Air University Press has distributed more than 500,000 books documenting the legacy of the Air Force.
