MACON CO., AL (WSFA) - In just one month the Macon County Humane Society went from caring for close to 20 animals to nearly 60.

This shelter doesn't have a facility. They depend 100 percent on foster care families.

With the recent increase they had to scramble to find temporary homes for these dogs and cats. Shelter director Susan Allen and her family are currently fostering more than 20 of the dogs.

To fill the growing need, the Allen family converted part of their own backyard into shelter space. Since funding for the non-profit comes solely from private donors, this shelter is being stretched financially and they need your help.
