Auburn High School varsity singers perform at Grand Ole Opry

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The Auburn High School Varsity Singers performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Friday and learned some good news afterward.
The group, ranked #No. 1 in Alabama and No. 18 among show choirs in the United States, learned it's going on to the finals and will be the only school from the South left in the competition!
Fifty-six student performers, along with a live band, took to the stage at the Grand Ole Opry as part of the 2016 Show Choir Nationals.
"I am speechless at the opportunity. It is going to be a lot of fun. We put a lot of effort into making this more than just a show, but a message," said Antavar Stinson, Thursday.
"A lot of artist and famous performers have performed on that stage. So it is a huge honor. Performing on stage is like you are about to get on a roller coaster. You have an adrenaline rush. You are really nervous. But once you are out there you put your heart on the stage," said Alexandria Harper.
Since January, they have been competing all over the Southeast. This will be their fourth and final performance of the year.
The group will perform again Saturday morning at 9:30.
