Selma woman charged with assault after fight over man

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - A Selma woman has been charged with assault after an argument over a man turned physical, according to Selma police.
Police say on Tuesday, officers responded to a call in the 1100 block of Broad Street where they were confronted by Hiawatha Ford, 46. Ford told police that she and the victim, a 41-year-old woman, got into an argument over a man both women were dating.
Investigators say the victim, who was being treated at a local emergency room, suffered several stab wounds during the altercation with Ford.
Ford has since been charged with a felony of the second assault and given a $15,000.00 bond.
