Consolidation of Alabama Community College System delayed

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The consolidation of the Alabama Community College System has been delayed.
The chancellor announced Wednesday it will not happen until 2017.
Decisions to push back the changes came after legislative and department delays and timing issues over financial aid packages, the chancellor stated in a news release.
The plan is to merge seven community colleges into two.
We're told the new timeline will allow for a smoother transition.
