CHILTON COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - School Resource Officers will be placed in all Jemison City Schools this fall, according to the police department.
Chief Shane Fulmer posted on the Jemison Police Department Facebook page that he had expressed concerns about securing schools and protecting the children of Jemison. Fulmer brought those concerns to the city and the board of education.
On May 15, the board of education approved funding for the officers.
According to the post, school resource officers will be added in the 2018-2019 school year.
