Auburn City Schools makes changes for new year

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The start of school is right around the corner, and for the Auburn City School system, they have some changes for this upcoming year.
There are quite a few additions that that are being made this school year.
The Auburn City Schools system is adding 73 new teachers across 13 campuses, three new principals, and a new Creekside Elementary campus for grades 2 and 3.
Bus drivers are also always welcomed to apply.
Another big change is the 1-to-1 program.
"We're really excited that this year we are rolling out the 1-to-1 initiative with iPads for every student for grades 8 through 12. We started the 1-to-1 initiative over 10 years ago with our junior high school, and we had been successful with that and have been trying to roll it out to other grade levels since, but we were able to find the funding to do that," said Auburn City Schools Superintendent Karen Delano.
Students will be back to hitting the books on Aug. 8.
