MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An employee on Wednesday said that longtime Italian restaurant Corsino’s on South Court Street near downtown Montgomery is closing.
A restaurant employee answering the phone confirmed the restaurant is closing but said there isn’t a closing date. The restaurant staff declined any further comment.
A recent post on Corsino’s Facebook page seemed to indicate the restaurant was closing.
The post said, “We will be open December 26, 27th and 28th for Lunch and Supper. December 31st we will serve supper only. It has truly been an honor to be part of such a wonderful extended family of friends and we love you all.”
A line of hungry customers gathered outside the restaurant door at 911 South Court Street on Wednesday night.
Fans of Corsino’s on Facebook wished the owners well but said that the food will be greatly missed.
The Italian eatery has been a favorite for decades for diners wanting to enjoy spaghetti, specialty salads, pizza, and veal parmigiana, all served in a friendly, informal setting.
Eastside Grille on Atlanta Highway in east Montgomery also is closing at the end of the week.
