MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - There’s always something inspiring waiting inside the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and now, The Rundown is bringing it straight to you.

Through our new partnership with the museum, we’re giving you an inside look at the exhibits, events, and experiences you can enjoy all year long. From hands-on workshops to community-centered conversations and creative showcases, this series, The Rundown: Art on the Town puts a spotlight on ways you can explore art, culture, and creativity right here in our community.

Think of it as your go-to guide for what to see, do, and experience at the museum because we’ll always see you on the town.

  • Art Ed Central: Papermaking

April 7 | 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Calling all art educators!

This hands-on workshop is designed for those looking to dive deeper into the creative process. This session continues the exploration of papermaking, giving participants a chance to learn techniques, experiment with materials, and expand their artistic toolkit.

Whether you’re refining your craft or looking for new ways to inspire your students, this workshop offers a unique and engaging experience rooted in creativity and learning.

  • Art Talk

April 16 | 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Artists, this one’s for you.

Art Talk is a bi-monthly critique group open to visual artists of all experience levels and disciplines. Participants are invited to bring one piece of artwork, at any stage, for an informal, community-driven critique.

This session will place a special focus on self-taught and “outsider” artists, creating space for fresh perspectives, meaningful feedback, and creative connection. It’s a chance to share your work, hear new interpretations, and grow alongside other artists in the community.
