2018 Montgomery school bus info hotline opens

MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Public School system has opened a hotline for parents looking for information about the buses and routes that will carry their children to and from school.

Each year, MPS buses travel more than 5 million miles to carry about half of the system's 29,000 students to their schools, but many parents struggle to find out what bus their child needs to get on and where the bus will stop.

The hotline can be reached at 334-223-6900 and is in operation from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If there is no answer, MPS is asking parents to leave a voicemail with their address, the school(s) attended by their children and a callback number.

Parents can also send an email with the same information to transportationinfo@mps.k12.al.us and will receive an email in response with all relevant bus information.

The hotline and email will operate until Aug. 16, 2018.
