Demopolis student arrested after bringing handgun to school
A juvenile has been arrested after authorities say he brought a .38 Caliber handgun to school Friday.
Demopolis Police Department School Resource Officers responded to a call of a student in possession of a gun at school. They, along with Demopolis City School officials were able to take possession of the gun and the student was taken into custody.
Investigators did not say if the gun was loaded or if the student gave a reason for bringing the weapon to campus. The child, who is not being identified due to his age, was taken to the Marengo County Juvenile Probation Office for Prosecution.
Investigators say the child will be charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon on School Grounds and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
