BTW Alumni host supply drive for school after fire

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Booker T. Washington Magnet High School Assistance Alumni Committee is hosting a supply drive. The goal is help replace thousands of dollars in technology and supplies that were ruined by Saturday's fire.
Jasmine Tanthongsack drove from Dothan on Wednesday to see the aftermath of the fire that left part of her alma mater destroyed.
"I was a visual magnet so that was my building. The memories I have for the rest of my life," said Tanthongsack.
The works of art Tanthongsack created as a student along with others are now gone. In the midst of this devastating situation she is confident of one thing when it comes to BTW.
"Though everything strong. That is our hashtag, BTW strong," said Tanthongsack.
Understanding the need, Tanthongsack and other alumni stepped up. On Tuesday they launched the supply drive.
The BTWMHS Assistance Alumni Committee will have fundraising events throughout the week.

2013 BTW graduate Keanna Lowe has offered up several travel packages from her business to be raffled off Friday and Saturday as part of the supply drive.
"They lost a lot and I want to give back. This school just means so much to me because it really laid the foundation for who I am," said Lowe.
The members of this assistance committee say the love for school is the main driving force as they work to make a difference.
"We won't stand ideally by. We can actually rally together for the students who need it," said William Lewis.
