Father and child involved in Huntsville house fire confirmed a murder suicide

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A 21-year-old man and his 1-year-old baby were killed before a structure fire on Tuesday afternoon, police say.
Firefighters say they responded to the call around 3 p.m. on Retlaw Street near Jordan Lane.
Huntsville police confirmed a 21-year-old man and a 1-year-old baby were found dead in the home. Police now say that evidence at the scene, along with autopsy results from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, confirmed that both victims died from gunshot wounds. A firearm recovered at the scene was determined to be the weapon used.
On Thursday, Huntsville Police identified the 21-year-old as Dominic Kane Tucker.
Firefighters say there was no visible flame damage to the outside, and the damage inside was very minimal.
Neighbors say it happened at the same home where police responded to a woman being stabbed back in July of last year. One woman remembers taking care of the baby when it happened.
“It’s disturbing, very disturbing,” said Tammy Hayes. “It’s the questions I’m asking if anything could have been done different. So many unanswered questions at this point. When I heard there was two deaths, I just know it’s got to be that same baby. That’s the same house that I helped that family.”
Many other neighbors told 48 News they were confused and wanted to know exactly what happened on Tuesday.
One neighbor told 48 News that the man who lived in the home that caught fire works at Taco Bell and has a pet dog.
Hayes said that she didn’t see any flames on Tuesday.
“None, my brother sits on the porch all day every day, and there are neighbors across the street, everybody is here and home, but there were no flames outside the house, we didn’t see anything.” said Hayes. “There are so many unanswered questions.”
