First Alert: Warm & Dry Pattern Continues into the Weekend

Pleasant weather now, but heat builds into the upper 80s next week with no rain in sight

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Central and south Alabama will wrap up the week with pleasant, sunny conditions, but we are still desperately looking for some much-needed wet weather. As we head into next week, temperatures will warm significantly, climbing into the upper 80s, with no significant rain expected.

Tonight: Clear skies with lows in the low to mid 50s. Light winds will allow for a comfortably cool night.

FRIDAY

Temperatures begin to warm noticeably heading into the weekend. Under sunny skies, highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Humidity will increase slightly, but conditions will remain dry and pleasant. It will be another great day to spend time outdoors.

Friday Night: Mostly clear skies with lows in the mid to upper 50s.

WEEKEND: SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Warmth settles in as temperatures continue an upward trend into next week. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s on Saturday, then climb into the mid to upper 80s by Sunday. Increasing humidity will make it feel more summer-like. Dry and sunny conditions will persist through the weekend, making for excellent outdoor weather.

Saturday Night: Clear to mostly clear skies with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy skies with lows in the low 60s.

NEXT WEEK: WARM AND DRY

The warming trend strengthens next week, with no rain expected. High temperatures will push into the upper 80s from Monday through Wednesday as high pressure remains in control. Mostly sunny to sunny skies will continue, keeping conditions dry and warm.

What to do: Take advantage of this extended stretch of dry, warm weather. It’s ideal for yard work, outdoor activities, and enjoying spring across central and south Alabama.

LOOKING AHEAD

While the warm and pleasant pattern continues, the lack of rainfall will likely worsen drought conditions, as no meaningful precipitation is expected over the next week or more.
