Montgomery Whitewater opens expanded trails
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery Whitewater is opening a new attraction you can enjoy all year long!
Three miles of mountain bike trails were added to the park’s existing paved trails where guests can ride their own bikes or rent one from the park. The trails are also open for hiking and running and are free to enjoy.
“We are thrilled to create new ways for people to get outside and stay active at Montgomery Whitewater Park,” said Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Gustin. “By adding new attractions like these, we are becoming a go-to destination for locals and visitors to enjoy a wide range of activities as part of a healthy outdoor lifestyle, making Montgomery more attractive to travelers and a better place to live.”
The new trails will provide opportunities for those who love the outdoors to continue to enjoy the 120 acre state of the art park even when it’s too cold to keep the water flowing on the Olympic standard whitewater competition channel.
The park’s fall and winter programming also includes a 5,000-square-foot real-ice skating rink, festive 5Ks, fun runs, polar plunges, weekly trivia nights and Sunday brunch and live music on the patio at Eddy’s, the park’s on-site restaurant, on Friday and Saturday evenings.
